Kilimanjaro to Berlin - A Personal Challenge

As many of you know, I took a break from my business this summer and set out on a 40th birthday adventure of a lifetime.  The trip had been years in the making.  Since I was a child, I’ve starred at a black and white picture of my dad in the 70’s at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro.  It has always been a dream of mine.  For some crazy reason Kilimanjaro wasn’t enough.  The Berlin marathon was a week after the end of my climb and actually on my birthday.  Why not do both?!

Since returning, it's been difficult to express what this experience meant to me.  Yes - this was a trip of a lifetime - getting to share it with some of my closest friends, being inspired by others that crossed my path, transversing mental anguish and pain, seeing the most beautiful sunrises, sunsets and glaciers.  But most importantly feeling so fortunate that my body was able to do something like this.

One of the reasons I became an acupuncturist was to inspire people to live healthier lives.  Committed to a healthy lifestyle can sometimes be a challenging sell, but I try to demonstrate it best by being a living example for my patients.  Living a healthy lifestyle is individualistic - it doesn’t have to be climbing a mountain or running a marathon.  Know what your body is capable of. Be gentle with yourself.  Do something that inspires you.  Live your happiest version of YOUR life.

I hope this note finds you all well and if acupuncture falls into your idea of living a healthier life, I would love to see you in the clinic.

Best to you all,

Jeani
